Episode 25: Chiara Mason on Building with Passion, Social Media, and The Reality of Early Entrepreneur Life

In this episode I’m sitting down with Chiara Mason who is a creator and author. She got her start as a travel blogger in university and has grown to publishing her first award-winning poetry book. I was really excited to interview Chiara because I was keen to get her insights on being a full-time author and creator. What transpired, is such a relatable conversation for all entrepreneurs.

As you guys know, I usually talk to seasoned professionals who share their wisdom based on years of experience, but this conversation is a little different. This is the real, honest tea from someone who’s still getting started and figuring stuff out. I think this interview is just as important, if not more so than all the others on the podcast because, as entrepreneurs, we all have tough moments where we compare ourselves to other successful entrepreneurs and, as a result, feel inadequate or unsure of ourselves. So, this episode is your breath of fresh air.

Chiara and I are chatting about our individual experiences of creating and publishing a poetry book, everything from the benefits of self-publishing, to how to hack amazon and be number one new release in your category, to a deep dive into social media, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Chiara is also sharing her tips for how to stay inspired and productive as a creative, what “authentic” content is and how to make it online, and her learning lessons from launching her first book.

I hope you enjoy this episode for its relatability and vulnerability. There are some great tips in there for aspiring authors and we close on an inspirational note, so if you’ve been having a hard week, be sure to listen all the way through for the perfect pick-me-up.
